We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Michaels Organization. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical integrity of our communities, providing exceptional customer service, and performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the physical integrity of the community, ensuring a safe, secure, and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Perform basic and advanced HVAC repairs, including preventive maintenance checks and services, troubleshooting systems, and repairing or replacing faulty internal parts.
- Perform basic electrical repairs, including work on appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, circuits, and light plumbing work.
- Perform carpentry work, including fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, sanding and refinishing floors, and exterior and interior painting.
- Assist in custodial and grounds work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning windows, and other tasks as needed.
- Respond to work orders and resident concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete accurate records regarding preventive maintenance and work orders.
- Report any maintenance or resident-related concerns to the manager and/or supervisor in a timely manner.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required.
- HVAC certification preferred.
- One year of experience or training in carpentry, light plumbing work, light electrical work, painting, refurbishing, and cleaning preferred.
- Proven knowledge and application of codes, laws, and regulations required.
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug test screening required.
The Maintenance Technician will work 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Overtime hours may be required. The position will be exposed to dust, dirt, solvents, paint, and other cleaning supplies. The Maintenance Technician will be required to use hand and power tools in a safe manner and wear eye protection when required for safe job performance.
