Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Manpower Inc. in Sharpsville, PA. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the continued operation of machinery and equipment in an electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production, processing, and packaging equipment, as well as utility-related equipment or systems, following all safety procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including routine inspections of equipment for assessment of reliability and performance.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Support the installation of new equipment and assist operators with training or troubleshooting to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner, while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees, and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
  • Ensure all repairs are documented, and complete all paperwork clearly, legibly, and accurately with required information.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift or a combination of both, with weekends and holidays required.
  • Union environment where schedules are picked according to seniority.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
Benefits:
  • $28.18/hour starting rate, with opportunity to make $29.18/hour after 90 days of employment.
  • Additional opportunity to make $32.25/hour with demonstrated electrical skills and/or certifications.
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus with payouts of $1,500 at 30 days, $1,500 at 90 days, and $2,000 at 180 days.
  • $86.57 per week for health benefits, available after 60 days.
  • 2.5% Union Fee per month.
