REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
  • Completion of an accredited culinary program.
  • At least 1 year of experience in institutional food preparation with supervisory duties.
  • Possession of a valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Capability to stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently.
  • Able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments.
  • Capacity to perform visual inspections and read, interpret, and follow recipes.
  • Ability to smell and taste to assess freshness and seasoning.
  • Competence in performing repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle.
As a proactive and dedicated CULINARY OPERATIONS MANAGER, your responsibilities will include:

1. Organizing kitchen tasks to ensure timely meal preparation, serving, and cleanup.

2. Training and overseeing kitchen staff, including program participants, on proper cooking methods.

3. Educating kitchen personnel on food safety, workplace safety, and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

4. Ensuring kitchen equipment is in good working order, scheduling maintenance and repairs as necessary.

5. Conducting bi-weekly inventory of supplies and managing stock rotation for freshness.

6. Ordering food supplies in line with nutritional guidelines and budgetary constraints.

7. Building and maintaining relationships with various suppliers, including local food banks.

8. Managing petty cash for weekly food purchases and adhering to approved accounting procedures for reimbursements.

9. Collaborating with the Center Administrator on menu planning and special events.

10. Assisting with cooking and service as required.

11. Consulting with professional staff regarding participant services as needed.

12. Keeping the Resident Manager and/or Center Administrator updated on staffing needs.

13. Ensuring adherence to established personnel policies and procedures by all staff and taking disciplinary action when necessary.

14. Maintaining safety protocols in accordance with TSA policies and governmental regulations.

15. Upholding confidentiality as required for program operations.

16. Overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the Center Administrator.

17. Additional duties as assigned by the Administrator or their designee.

Work Schedule

Our ARCs operate seven days a week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be adaptable to ensure sufficient coverage. Full-time staff may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
