Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, research, and implement information security measures for organizational systems and products, ensuring compliance with relevant security policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and both internal and external stakeholders to confirm that procured hardware and software satisfy security criteria during assessment, selection, installation, and configuration.
  • Evaluate and propose enhancements to network, system, and application architectures.
  • Review network, server, and application logs to identify trends and detect security incidents.
  • Support the revision and enhancement of information security policies, architectures, and standards.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining security configuration baselines while monitoring systems for adherence.
  • Contribute to audit responses, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Install and utilize software such as firewalls and data encryption tools to safeguard sensitive organizational information.
  • Provide assistance to users in the installation or operation of new security products and procedures.
  • In case of a security breach or incident, lead the incident response efforts for the Information Security team to mitigate impact.
  • Conduct a technical and forensic investigation following a breach or incident to ascertain how it occurred and the extent of the damage.
  • Perform risk assessments to evaluate our position against specific threats and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and propose policies, standards, and procedures that comply with legal and regulatory requirements covering both internal and external parties, as well as physical and digital security systems.
  • Provide training and support to Information Security Analysts and Administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience in information security, particularly in a security engineering capacity.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role within an Incident Response Team (IRT), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Security Incident Response Center (SIRC), or a Security Operations Unit (SOU) is highly preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent is required.
  • Technical expertise in network security, including VPN, Firewall, network monitoring, intrusion detection, web server security, SIEM, NAC, PAM, IAM, CIS Security Controls, and other security-related applications.
  • Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with database security, content filtering, vulnerability scanning, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Perl, Python, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with risk assessment tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Experience in designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Experience in planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate network security issues to peers and management.
  • Understanding of business needs and a commitment to delivering high-quality, prompt, and efficient service.
  • Awareness of organizational mission, values, and goals, with consistent application of this knowledge.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to assess the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most suitable course of action.
  • Capability to influence others to modify their opinions, plans, or behaviors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of PCI, GLBA, and IS/IT risk assessment, the FFIEC IT examination guidelines, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
