Role Summary

The Housing Counselor plays a crucial role in managing a supervised transitional housing environment for residents with mental health concerns. This position involves offering assistance in various areas, including:

  • Meal preparation and coordination
  • Medication monitoring
  • House management
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADL) training and coaching
  • Organizing social events and recreational activities

In collaboration with residents, the Housing Counselor will facilitate socialization events and evening programs, as well as lead recreational groups. Close observation of residents is essential, along with maintaining accurate records of medication intake and ensuring timely communication with supervisors and service coordinators regarding any discrepancies.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Experience in customer service or residential support
  • Must undergo fingerprinting and clearance by the appropriate authorities
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
