Bilingual Case Manager

At Jewish Family Service of San Diego, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Case Manager to join our Immigration Services team. As a Bilingual Case Manager, you will play a critical role in providing case management services to asylum seekers and refugees, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Responsibilities:- Welcome and support guests at shelter locations, providing basic necessities and answering questions upon arrival.
- Conduct intake and assessment with clients to determine immediate needs, both over the phone and in person.
- Ensure client needs are addressed in a timely and professional manner, providing trauma-informed support and de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, coordinating onward travel arrangements with guests and sponsors.
- Connect individuals and families with resources while they are enrolled in our program, ensuring a smooth transition to independence.
- Collaborate with the shelter team to ensure guests are prepared for onward travel, coordinating with staff between multiple shelter locations.
- Perform data entry in client management software, running reports and analyzing information as needed.
- Accompany guests to off-site appointments, guiding them to local homeless service providers as needed.
- Ensure case management protocols are adhered to, maintaining a health, safe, and clean workspace.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working within client database systems.
- Knowledge and experience in case management skills, with a focus on trauma-informed care.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to multitask efficiently and effectively.
- Experience with advising upon, following, and executing program protocols, with a strong understanding of foreign-born immigrant populations.
- Ability to de-escalate and provide trauma-informed support, with a sensitivity to cultural differences present in the service population.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Associates/Bachelor's degree in social service program and/or at least 1 year experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (or other language commonly spoken at the shelter).
- CPR/First Aid & AED Certification, but not required.
