Position Overview: Security Officer (32 hours/Evenings)

The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the well-being and property of all individuals within the hospital premises. This role involves patrolling the facility to deter incidents of fire, theft, and vandalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Document all security-related activities during shifts, ensuring clarity and objectivity.
  2. Exhibit knowledge of emergency protocols, including fire and disaster response.
  3. Assist nursing staff with patient restraints using appropriate techniques.
  4. Maintain familiarity with the facility's fire suppression systems.
  5. Conduct regular patrols to enhance visibility and prevent incidents.
  6. Manage time and resources effectively to complete assignments promptly.
  7. Foster positive working relationships and demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  8. Contribute to team efforts aimed at delivering quality services and solutions.
  9. Provide excellent customer service, treating all individuals with respect and compassion.
  10. Respond to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Education:

  1. Commitment to ongoing professional development through available resources.
  2. Participation in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  3. Ability to assist in the orientation and mentoring of new staff.
  4. Capability to perform analytical tasks with minimal supervision.
  5. Understanding of hospital policies and safety protocols.
  6. Awareness of the services offered by the hospital.

Qualifications:

  1. Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Preferred: Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
  4. Preferred: Experience in a hospital setting.
  5. Preferred: College credits or an Associate Degree in a related field.
  6. Preferred: Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish.
