Clean Harbors is seeking a

Class B CDL Vacuum Truck Operator

to become a part of our dedicated team. The

CDL Operator

will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of Clean Harbors industrial services across various sectors.

This position involves supervising and executing tasks that require a single crew, while ensuring compliance with client specifications and company policies.


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Industrial settings including refineries, petrochemical facilities, utilities, mining operations, and paper mills.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Class B CDL

CAPABLE OF OPERATING A MANUAL TRANSMISSION

Key Responsibilities:


Act as a safety representative, ensuring adherence to safety protocols for both the company and clients, providing hands-on guidance regarding operations, safety measures, equipment handling, emergency response, and administrative tasks.

Operate vacuum and hydroblasting equipment.
Utilize specialized machinery, including ultra-high-pressure pumps.

Manage equipment operation by activating pumping systems and any specialized hydroblasting or chemical cleaning apparatus, vacuum trucks, and cutting tools as required.

Inspect cleaned surfaces to confirm compliance with company and client standards.
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment utilized during operations.
Perform duties related to liquid vacuums, air machines, and jet rodders.
May oversee a team of vacuum technicians.
Transport equipment and personnel to and from job sites.
Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain driver logs, and adhere to all vehicle policies and DOT regulations.
Load and unload hoses.
Discharge vacuum truck contents at designated disposal sites.
Provide general maintenance in the field.
Execute other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Relevant vocational training, including classroom safety instruction, on-the-job training, and experience gained from previous roles.

Language proficiency:
Ability to understand English sufficiently to comprehend safety training and respond to emergency instructions.

A valid driver's license, CDL Class B, and compliance with the company's driving policy are required when operating company vehicles or using personal vehicles for company purposes.

A smartphone is necessary for Electronic Logging Device usage.
Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.
Familiarity with emergency equipment operation, such as fire extinguishers, is essential.
Experience with vacuum truck operation is preferred.
Knowledge of equipment used in wet and dry vacuum applications is beneficial.
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
Class B CDL License is mandatory.
HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements are preferred.
