Position Overview:

Blue Hill Country Club is seeking an experienced Assistant Culinary Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the daily culinary operations across multiple dining venues, pool services, and extensive event catering. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional quality for all members and guests, showcasing versatility in both banquet and à la carte service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This is a hands-on position focused on executing daily culinary tasks rather than administrative duties.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to manage food procurement and inventory, ensuring menu items are engineered for optimal profitability.
  • Assist in the training and development of kitchen staff through effective education and innovative instruction.
  • Standardize recipes and plate presentations to guarantee a memorable dining experience for all patrons.
  • Champion outstanding service, understanding the significance of member satisfaction in the club's success.
  • Oversee daily culinary operations, including à la carte services, member events, and banquets.
  • Support the Executive Chef in creative menu planning, efficient purchasing strategies, and operational management.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the kitchen, actively participating in food preparation and service.
  • Foster a respectful and collaborative team environment, acting as an ambassador for the club's culture.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role or four years in various culinary positions.
  • Proven experience in managing high-volume culinary operations with multiple dining outlets.
  • Strong leadership presence in dining settings.
  • Demonstrated ability in team management, organization, and coaching within a kitchen environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of both à la carte and banquet operations.
  • Exceptional management skills with a focus on inspirational leadership and financial performance.
  • Expertise in menu planning for restaurants and banquets, capable of executing high-volume buffet and banquet cuisine.
  • Proactive team builder with a track record of attracting and retaining top culinary talent.
  • Ability to motivate and guide team members while managing performance effectively.
  • Encourage positive interdepartmental relationships.
  • Skilled in managing change within a dynamic environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of expense control related to kitchen operations and budgeting.
  • Experience with inventory management systems is advantageous.
  • Creative skills in menu development.
  • Excellent client service abilities, maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Bilingual communication skills (English - Spanish) are a plus.
