POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is essential for executing a variety of mechanical assembly tasks, contributing to the construction of both large and small components according to precise specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct assembly, rework, and inspection processes to produce finished goods for manufacturing.
2. Employ hand tools, fixtures, pneumatic devices, manual presses, and power tools for component assembly.
3. Follow verbal and documented instructions, including bills of materials, established guidelines, complex assembly drawings, and blueprints.
4. Utilize various precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to ensure proper functionality and operation of assemblies.
5. Manage materials required for the department effectively.
6. Identify opportunities for enhancing productivity, quality, and safety.
7. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and workspaces.
8. Adhere to established procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
9. Uphold a safe working environment.
10. Operate under supervision and perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. High school diploma or GED; one to three years of manufacturing experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Ability to perform a variety of assembly and soldering tasks manually.
3. Dexterity in handling small components is essential.
4. Proficiency in reading blueprints is required.
5. Basic computer skills are necessary.
ADDITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
This position requires both independent and collaborative work.
Physical demands include the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Long periods of standing and/or sitting may be required, up to 8 hours per day.
Good manual dexterity and visual acuity are essential.
Familiarity with various equipment, including hand tools and calibrated measuring devices, is necessary for the role. Exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals and oils may occur.
