Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hotel Cook to join our culinary team at Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center. As a Hotel Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for hotel guests during the evening shift.

You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to the hotel's standards.

Your role will be vital in providing an exceptional culinary experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and cooking guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitor and maintain inventory and kitchen supplies and equipment, reporting any needs or issues to the Chef
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and execute special events and catered functions
  • Assist with menu planning and development, ensuring that all dishes meet quality standards and guest expectations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques, incorporating new techniques into menu items
Requirements
  • At least 12 years of cooking experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
