Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Tax Supervisor to join our expanding Business Tax practice. As a Tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns, working on multiple complex issues, and communicating with clients in a non-technical manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns
  • Work on multiple complex issues while communicating with clients
  • Serve as a Career Advisor, mentor, or coach to employees
  • Train and develop staff members
  • Serve as the Tax client service coordinator for clients
  • Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards
  • Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field
  • Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam, EA, or a licensed JD
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on taxation
  • Experience preparing and reviewing returns with one or more of the following: Partnership, S Corporation, or C Corporation
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to work in a collaborative team and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters of Accounting, Masters of Taxation, or MBA preferred
  • Active CPA, JD/LLM, or EA
  • Experience with private client or business taxation with a desire to grow skills in the Private Company area
  • Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
  • Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry specialization a plus
  • Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740's
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in dealing with international tax matters is a plus
