Lead Automation Engineer at Swift Placement & Consulting

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about automation technologies and robotics. You will be responsible for designing and tailoring robotic programs to fulfill client specifications, alongside mentoring and overseeing junior Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming Fanuc robots for automation projects
  • Developing robotic programs based on unique customer process needs
  • Creating robot programs using TPP and KAREL, utilizing ROBOGUIDE
  • Implementing cell PLC programming tailored to applications, preferably with Allen Bradley or Automation Direct
  • Customizing and integrating vision systems to align with specific client demands
  • Leading and managing on-site installation activities
  • Preparing training materials and documentation for clients
  • Conducting specialized training sessions post-project acceptance
  • Advising on End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) selection and gripper configurations
  • Simulating and validating robot paths and orientations within designated spaces
  • Assisting in sales and quotation processes as needed
  • Supervising and mentoring junior Engineers
  • Willingness to travel overnight within the state as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree in a related engineering field with at least 5 years of experience in robot programming for machine and peripheral device operations
  • Experience in robotic and machine vision applications
  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Extensive experience in PLC programming and related mechanical peripherals, preferably with Allen Bradley or Automation Direct
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Knowledge of Windows, Visual.NET, and database development (SQL) programming
