Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Apprentice to join our team at Highland Industrial Staffing. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, producing, and verifying parts to meet quality and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC milling machines, lathes, drill presses, sanders, buffers, and bench grinders to produce high-quality parts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to ensure accurate production.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and storing materials and supplies.
  • Repair and modify equipment as needed, with guidance from supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous work experience in a shop environment, with basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new skills and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and other manufacturing tools.
