Job Summary

This position is a flexible opportunity to work in a retail environment, selling a variety of merchandise items to customers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work irregular schedules, and have experience handling cash and operating a point of sale system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sell merchandise items to customers, including prepackaged snacks, tobacco products, and candy.
  • Operate a cash register, ring up sales, receive money, and make change.
  • Process credit card sales and charge items to customers' accounts.
  • Conduct daily inventories and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform check-out duties, including ringing up food, beverages, and merchandise.
  • Assist with setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, and ensuring kitchen staff is advised when the buffet line needs replenishment.
Requirements
  • Experience in responsible clerical or office work, including demonstrated ability to perform common arithmetic problems and make change.
  • Experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items, including direct handling of cash and use of cash accountability control methods.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in dealing with the public.
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete a Tier one background investigation.
