We are seeking a skilled Fluid Power Engineer to contribute to our engineering team.

Position Overview

This role encompasses several key responsibilities, including Hydraulic Design, Systems Integration, Assembly/Testing, and Product Support.

Key Responsibilities


• Design hydraulic circuits utilizing standard symbols and CAD software.


• Develop both open and closed circuit hydraulic designs, incorporating multi-station valve manifolds.


• Select and size pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves effectively.


• Conduct essential mechanical and hydraulic calculations related to pressure, flow, speed, torque, and geometry.


• Collaborate with electrical designers to integrate hydraulic and electrical control systems.


• Utilize 2-D and 3-D CAD software for layout designs and detailed fabrication drawings.


• Manage company data systems and maintain accurate bills of materials.


• Work closely with manufacturing technicians to ensure systems meet client specifications and resolve design challenges.


• Coordinate documentation and ensure timely implementation of changes.


• Provide troubleshooting support and field assistance as necessary.


• Collaborate with account managers to gather requirements for new opportunities.


• Develop sales strategies in conjunction with account managers to attract new clients.


• Estimate costs for hydraulic systems and prepare summaries and statements of work.


• Assist the Lubrication Strategic Business Unit with design and documentation of lubrication systems.


• Provide product support to customers and account managers, addressing technical inquiries and troubleshooting product issues.

Required Skills and Knowledge


• Proficient in hydraulic symbols for schematic creation.


• Strong understanding of hydraulic system fundamentals, including calculations for pressure, flow, speed, torque, and horsepower.


• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD layout designs for machinery.


• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, account managers, project engineers, and clients.


• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems start-up and troubleshooting.


• Familiarity with lubrication systems, including grease and oil, is advantageous.

Education and Experience Requirements

1. Education: Associate Degree

2. Experience: 1-2 years in fluid power engineering

3. Physical Requirements: Occasional field supervision

4. Technical Skills: Proficient in 2D CAD, 3D CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor & HyDraw preferred), Excel, and Word.
