Covenant Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist to join our Clinical Quality team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing and operationalizing the infection prevention program for our entire organization.

Under the direction of the Vice President of System Quality and Performance Improvement and the Chief Medical Officer, you will collaborate with local and system senior leadership to develop, manage, and evaluate the quality of patient care and clinical outcomes. Your primary focus will be on reducing healthcare-associated infections and improving patient safety across our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the organizational infection prevention program.
  • Provide organization-wide surveillance and develop an annual surveillance plan based on population served, services provided, and historical surveillance data.
  • Develop, interpret, and assist with implementation of infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
  • Communicate infection prevention and control information and data to various committees and healthcare workers across the organization.
  • Design and deliver education to assess and address learning needs of those served.
  • Assess and facilitate compliance with regulatory and mandatory reporting requirements at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Utilize DMAIC Process Improvement methodology to enact change and ensure sustainability of initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field.
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred.
  • CIC certification by Certificate Board of Infection Prevention Control and Epidemiology, Inc. encouraged.
