Job Summary:

Covenant Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Preventionist to join our Clinical Quality team. As an Infection Preventionist, you will be responsible for directing and operationalizing the infection prevention program for the entire organization. This role collaborates with local and system senior leadership to develop, manage, and evaluate the quality of patient care and clinical outcomes, with a focus on reducing healthcare-associated infections and improving patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develops, implements, and evaluates the organizational infection prevention program
- Provides organization-wide surveillance and develops an annual surveillance plan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis of historical surveillance data
- Develops, interprets, and assists with implementation of infection prevention and control policies and protocols
- Communicates infection prevention and control information and data to various committees and healthcare workers across the organization
- Designs and delivers education to assess and address learning needs of those served

Requirements:

- Associate degree or higher in nursing, public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or related field
- Two years clinical experience preferred
- CIC certification by Certificate Board of Infection Prevention Control and Epidemiology, Inc. encouraged
