We are seeking a highly skilled Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist II - Cartographer/Analyst to join our team at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). As a key member of our Information Resources division, you will play a critical role in achieving our mission by working on complex GIS projects.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop ArcGIS Web maps, Dashboards, and Stories that incorporate multiple spatial data layers and environmental data for agency use.
- Provide support for creating Map Services and ensure agency standards are met for map products delivered over a browser.
- Modify print products, including maps, graphs, or diagrams, using geographical information software and related equipment for resource development and management, identifying environmental hazards, regional cultural history, and urban social planning.
- Manage spatial databases of relevant information and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with gathering, compiling, and distributing geospatial content from multiple sources that apply to the TCEQ mission.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, geography, geographic information system technology, management information systems, geology, physical science, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Two years' experience in GIS systems analysis and design.
