We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Safety Specialist to join our team at Clayco. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees and subcontractors on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of project planning and execution.
  • Develop and maintain safety records and reports, including incident reports, safety audits, and training records.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in safety and risk management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of safety experience with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques.
  • 2-3 years of field experience required.
  • OSHA 30-hour construction accreditation.
  • OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer is a plus.
  • Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work at heights, able to climb ladders, access/inspect scaffolding and roof areas.
  • Noise level is usually moderate to very loud.
  • Computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office.
