About the Department

The Department of Music is a vibrant and dynamic community of scholars and artists, comprising approximately 25 faculty members and over 150 music majors and minors. The department presents a wide range of musical performances throughout the year, including concerts, recitals, and other events. Our faculty members are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service, and we are seeking a colleague who shares these values.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach courses in their area of expertise, including undergraduate and graduate-level classes
  • Maintain a strong research agenda, including publishing scholarly articles and presenting at conferences
  • Contribute to the department's service and outreach efforts, including advising students, serving on departmental committees, and participating in community engagement initiatives

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a terminal degree in music or a related field, with a strong record of teaching and research experience. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
