Job Summary

The 24/7 Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in collaborating with department leadership, peers, The Foundation, donors, physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute all functions and activities associated with the 24/7 Recognition Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with department leadership and peers to ensure timely access to health care programs and services for 24/7 donors.
  • Act as the key point of contact within the health care system for program donors.
  • Communicate effectively with donors, physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to meet their needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
  • Exhibit exceptional commitment to patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA.
  • Role model Eisenhower Health's mission, vision, values, and True North.
  • Treat all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and visitors with kindness, empathy, dignity, and respect.
  • Employ critical thinking to improve and streamline workflow processes.
  • Assist with the coordination of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Integrate services and prescribed treatment among the hospital system's different programs, service sites, departments, and physicians.
  • Facilitate 24/7 member participation in all decisions concerning care and advocate on their behalf.
  • Adhere to health-system scripting and seek assistance if unclear.
  • Recognize opportunities to capture and relay vital information to The Foundation to support philanthropic activities and member retention.
  • Ensure physician orders to initiate treatments and scheduling are available and viable.
  • Intervene to reduce anxiety and enhance patients' ability to follow-through with appointments and prescribed care.
  • Communicate and bridge knowledge gaps to provide up-to-date medical information on diagnostic testing and planned treatments.
  • Escorts 24/7 patients to and from various departments for tests and treatments.
  • Remain with patients as requested and proactively orchestrate or take additional customer service measures to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
  • Recognize potentially critical situations and take action to minimize adverse outcomes.
  • Integrate with the Emergency Department team and act as an adjunct caregiver to facilitate quality care.
  • Collaborate with in-patient staff to facilitate smooth hospital admission and stay with patients through the admission process as appropriate.
  • Assure patient 24/7 will follow-up on their care, daily.
  • Convey an appreciation for the central role 24/7 donors play in the fiscal health of the organization and actively promote positive perceptions of the program.
  • Share knowledge and act as a professional resource to colleagues and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Train, orient, coach, and positively support new hires to ensure confident, seamless integration into the department.
  • Embrace change and demonstrate a commitment to utilize evidence-based practice.
  • Actively seek opportunities to support and uplift department morale.
  • Promote a positive department image when interfacing with health system staff and professionals.
  • Involve appropriate line managers in service recovery as necessary.
  • Provide patients with information on how to contact 24/7 staff.
  • Assist other team members when necessary.
