Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician II to join our team at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Histotech Coordinator and the Pathologist, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy in our pathology department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and prepare supplies and equipment for histology procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports for the Pathology Department.
  • File, mail, and call reports as required.
  • Participate in all pathology procedures and ensure compliance with established standards and practices.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program or an Associate Degree with relevant experience.
  • Registry eligibility as a Histotechnician (ASCP) or Histotechnician eligible.
  • At least 3 years of previous experience as a Histotechnician (ASCP) or Histotechnician eligible.

Preferred Skills:

  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Strong word processing and computer skills.
  • Excellent clerical and secretarial skills.
  • Medical terminology knowledge.
