Position Summary:

As a Lead Environmental Consultant, you will be responsible for executing due diligence evaluations and conducting subsurface investigations and environmental remediation activities across various sites, primarily within your designated region, with occasional national assignments. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers to assist in proposal development, project scheduling, invoicing, and other essential project management functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and 2) and execute subsurface investigation and remediation tasks.
  • Draft thorough environmental site assessment reports and other technical documentation, ensuring the inclusion of precise data summaries and visual representations.
  • Support senior management in coordinating activities across multiple project functions to guarantee timely and satisfactory project delivery.
  • Assist in achieving project milestones, adhering to budget constraints, deadlines, and other performance metrics.
  • Contribute to the selection and management of project personnel and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for various sites.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Subsurface Investigations, and remediation projects.
  • Familiarity with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) Land Recycling Program (Act 2) and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Technical Requirements for Site Remediation.
  • Experience in conducting Property Condition Assessments is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing capabilities.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; knowledge of CAD or GIS systems is a plus.
Additional Information:
  • Completion of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) 40-Hour training certification is required; training may be provided if necessary.
  • Willingness to travel regionally up to 100%, including occasional overnight and extended stays, with travel arrangements including car, train, or plane as needed.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position due to frequent use of rental vehicles or company cars.
