Senior Environmental Consultant

Stantec is seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Consultant to lead and grow our Environmental Services business to Energy and Utility Clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership on projects and thought leadership on solutions to environmental challenges for energy projects.
- Lead teams that collect and report on tasks, including wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species habitat characterizations, land use mapping, and vegetation cover classification.
- Coordinate, oversee, and prepare waters and wetlands permit applications for the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Pennsylvania and New Jersey DEP, plus Soil Erosion Control Plans to County Soil Conservation Districts.
- Coordinate, oversee, and prepare Federal and State SPCC/DPCC Plans for spill coordination with clients.
- Develop proposal strategies and lead/collaborate with a broader proposal team.
- Partner with our engineer and design teams to deliver successful energy projects.
- Lead business development initiatives with new and existing clients.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality service on client projects.
- Effectively communicate data collection methods and results to varied audiences, including clients, regulators, and the public.
- Recruit, mentor, and support the professional development of staff.
- Drive growth of Key Energy Accounts.
- Demonstrated ability in business development and revenue growth.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse project teams and manage large complex projects, particularly energy projects.
- Experience with local, state, and federal environmental permitting in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including experience with the USACOE and PADEP 105/102 Permitting Program and the NJDEP Freshwater Wetlands Permit Program.
- Demonstrated experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish.
- Ability to work in a team environment and build a program.
- Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability.
- Ability to meet project deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including advanced technical writing abilities.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, and successfully interact with clients, counsel, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work well independently and with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Working relationships with PECO and ACE or other Pennsylvania and New Jersey Energy Utilities.
- Experience in growing key accounts.
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or a related field is required. Graduate degree is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years' experience.
