Job Title: Assistant Manager - Production Planning

The Assistant Manager - Production Planning is a key role within our operations team, responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the production process. This role involves planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize resource use.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage capacity planning systems to meet customer orders and deadlines.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure materials and resources are available.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in overseeing daily operations and managing production teams.
  • Ensure production targets are met and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain production policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure sufficient supply without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary materials and supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality issues.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce defects.
  • Track production metrics and prepare regular reports on production performance.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for optimizing production processes and reducing costs.
  • Assist in managing and developing production staff, including training and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Address any personnel issues and escalate them to the Operations Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning or a similar role in manufacturing.
  • Supervisory leadership skills.
  • Understanding of production processes and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
