About the Role

The Manufacturing Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing plant costs, supervising personnel, and implementing safety and quality control programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility, leading and managing a team of department heads, supervisors, and employees.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance, developing and executing production schedules to meet customer requirements and business goals.
  • Financial Management: Prepare annual budgets and manage costs within the budget, analyzing financial statements and making decisions to enhance the plant's financial performance.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality and performance, developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control systems to improve product quality.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, enforcing compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a continuous improvement culture by implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies, identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain solid relationships with key customers, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Human Resources: Recruit, train, and develop plant staff, conducting performance reviews and providing feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the long-term success of the plant, staying updated with industry trends and adjusting strategies as necessary.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
