OzarksGo, a telecommunications entity located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, is a subsidiary of Ozarks Electric Cooperative, providing high-speed fiber optic internet along with premium television and telephone services to the regions of Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma.
Position Overview: This internship role requires a commitment of no more than 80 hours per month. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited university or college program.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; candidates must be enrolled in an accredited university or college program.
Experience:
Familiarity with ArcGIS, Trimble Pathfinder, and Terraflex is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilizing handheld Trimble devices to precisely identify underground fiber path access points, including pedestals, vaults, handholes, and flowerpots, with sub-meter accuracy for fiber construction projects.
- Following the original construction order using construction map books and iPad map viewer data.
- Assisting in tagging pedestals to correlate real-world assets with the GIS fiber database.
- Documenting discrepancies between map books and actual construction to ensure database accuracy.
- Recording the access address for each path access point collected.
- Performing additional duties as required to meet the objectives of OzarksGo.

Additional Requirements:
- Skills: Candidates should possess strong mathematical abilities and a keen interest in technical subjects. The ability to enhance knowledge and skills through on-the-job training is essential. Candidates must be capable of reading and understanding instructions, correspondence, and memos, and effectively presenting information in both written and verbal formats.
- Equipment: A valid driver's license is required, with no violations that would affect insurability. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle in challenging road conditions and have experience working with computers in a Windows environment, as well as using handheld Trimble units.
- Working Conditions: This role may involve exposure to wet, humid, and extreme temperature conditions outdoors, with some tasks performed in an office setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and/or hike across varied terrains. Regular lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
