Job Summary

Best Buddies International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Director, Mission Advancement. This key role will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, developing and implementing strategic partnerships, and driving fundraising efforts to support the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
  • Fundraising: Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure sustainable funding for the organization's programs and services.
  • Program Development: Work with the state programs teams to support local programmatic needs and facilitate the introduction of new chapter leads or employer partner leads to the appropriate programs support.
  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise program and development staff as budget grows and staffing needs increase.
  • Marketing and Communications: Develop a comprehensive statewide public awareness strategy and work with volunteers on its implementation.
  • Reporting and Administration: Maintain communication with the State Director with timely reports and other information as directed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years' relevant experience in addition to above experience.
  • 3-5 years of fundraising experience including special events planning and donor cultivation.
  • 3-5 years' experience and knowledge of working with volunteers and boards.
  • Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills with the ability to exert influence, inspire others, and articulate the mission, goals, and activities of Best Buddies with passion and enthusiasm.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and familiarity/comfort with database management systems.
  • Superior project management skills - including planning, analysis, decision making, and problem solving - and willingness to multitask.
  • Superior initiative, drive for results, and self-assessment skills, and ability to lead individuals and teams in setting and achieving challenging goals.
  • Must be comfortable engaging with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must travel, use personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary in order to accomplish job responsibilities.
  • Access to an automobile with applicable insurance.
