Job Summary:

The Specimen Coordinator and Processor is a crucial role at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, responsible for the efficient and accurate management of biological specimens from clinical trials involving CAR-T therapy.

This position plays a vital part in ensuring the integrity and quality of these samples, which are used to study diseases, develop new treatments, and advance medical research.

The primary focus of this role is on processing biological specimens from clinical trials. Candidates with experience in sample processing and the industry are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Point person for picking up samples from the hospital and clinic, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and transportation according to established protocols.
  • Shipping samples for industry-sponsored clinical trials.
  • Process samples using various techniques, including centrifugation, Ficoll, aliquoting, and freezing, ensuring the integrity of samples throughout the processing procedure.
  • Oversee the storage and management of specimens in appropriate conditions, such as cryogenic storage.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of specimen storage using a LIMS.

Requirements:

  • At least two (2) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (e.g., Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience.
  • At least three (3) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (e.g., Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience (preferred).
