Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our transport team at Ascension St. Vincent. As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport. Your expertise will be essential in identifying, intervening, and stabilizing patients, working collaboratively with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment.
  • Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations, and follow directives.
  • Inspect, maintain, and care for equipment to ensure safety.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Requirements
  • Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
  • Preferred qualifications include a driver's license, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification, and Prehospital Trauma Life Support or International Trauma Life Support certification.
Education and Experience

A minimum of three years of full-time experience in Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic is required. An Associate's degree or Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience, is also required.
