About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team.
  • Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate.
  • Contact receiving medical personnel, report observations and follow directives.
  • Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
Requirements
  • Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following preferred:
    • Drivers License.
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Prehospital Trauma Life Support or International Trauma Life support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum Qualification: Three years of full time experience in Emergency Medical Services as a Paramedic.
