We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our Global Service Team in Scheifling, Austria. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive service and support to our customers in North America, ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of our robotic assembly and welding systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment, including robot calibrations, software updates, and troubleshooting.
- Educate customers on the efficient use of our equipment, providing clear operational guidance and support.
- Diagnose and resolve customer issues, identifying immediate fixes for machine shutdowns and proposing longer-term improvements.
- Partner with clients to develop customized solutions, liaising with our Engineering team in Austria as needed.
- Install aftermarket parts and products, sold as upgrades or retrofits, to existing clients.
- Identify spare parts demand and coordinate with our back-office team to meet customer needs.
- Provide detailed service reports, highlighting value propositions and recommendations for customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels, promoting our premium equipment and automation solutions.
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 75% of the year) to support customer needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in installation and servicing of high-value industrial machinery.
- Strong software, electrical, and mechanical skills, with knowledge of robotic welding equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to travel extensively throughout North America (US, Canada, Mexico).
- Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Current and valid US driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Technical certifications in engineering fields, such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages.
The Service Technician will work in a fast-paced industrial environment, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, airborne particles, and machine lubricants and chemicals. The noise level is moderate.
Physical DemandsThe position requires regular standing and walking on cement floors, frequent use of hands to handle tools, and occasional lifting of objects up to 60 pounds. The employee must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs of force and possess manual dexterity to solder components.
