Job Summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our North American Service Team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical knowledge, paired with excellent troubleshooting skills. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing aftermarket parts, educating customers on preventative maintenance, and diagnosing customer problems. You will also be required to travel domestically and internationally for onsite training and installation of new equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and test aftermarket parts to ensure they meet standard specifications
  • Educate customers on maintaining and following a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Perform maintenance functions and service work orders as requested by customers
  • Diagnose customer problems and identify repair solutions
  • Prepare quotes and sales orders for spare parts and consumables
  • Complete detailed reports and service tickets documenting work performed
  • Communicate with customers on service-related work and proactive recommendations to increase uptime
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers
  • Travel domestically and internationally for onsite training and installation of new equipment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience as a Service Technician
  • Strong mechanical skills, including conveyor repairs, levelling, and replacement of wear items
  • Strong electrical skills, including troubleshooting low voltage, electrical panels, and 480V
  • Strong pneumatic skills
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Familiarity with ABB and Fanuc Robotic Systems
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools, multi-meter, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours around a changing schedule
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Commitment to travel 75% of the year throughout North America (U.S., Canada, Mexico); 90% of travel is in the US
  • Current and valid US driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
Work Environment

The Service Technician will work in a fast-paced industrial environment with moderate noise levels. The position requires frequent standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or grasp. The employee will occasionally lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 60 pounds. The position requires fine vision and manual dexterity to properly place and solder components.
