Medical Laboratory Specialist

As a Medical Laboratory Technician with Actalent, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of laboratory testing. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities- Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Demonstrating the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls.
- Reporting accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Identifying and replenishing testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Assisting with processing of specimens when needed.
- Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
- ASCP Certified as MLT or MLS.
- Previous experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
- High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). The work site is fully on-site in Spokane, Washington.
