Assembly Technician Job Summary
Builders FirstSource is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble parts in specified relationships to each other.
- Bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together.
- Cut products to specific measurements as needed.
- Remove defective products as needed.
- Tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.
- Work at different workstations as production needs require.
- Work in an environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.
- Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Verbal expression ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
Work Environment:
The Assembly Technician will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and the employee will be required to wear earplugs for noise protection as well as eye protection and other personal protective equipment required by the location.
