Insurance Underwriting Coordinator

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriting Assistant to facilitate the processing of insurance policy decisions. This role involves collecting and entering accurate information for new, existing, and prospective clients, which serves as the foundation for underwriter decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Review new and renewal policies for accuracy
- Verify changes to client policies for accuracy
- Document and communicate policy approvals or rejections to the underwriting team, agents, supervisors, and clients in a timely manner
- Develop reports using data and analytics for policy decisions, such as coverage determinations and policy parameters
- Serve as liaison between underwriters and customers to track, manage, and prioritize insurance applications and services
- Communicate with applicants to collect accurate insurance information for risk assessment profiles
- Support policy recommendations by verifying records in underwriting software
Qualifications:
- A keen attention to detail for collecting and maintaining customer information
- A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business administration, or related field
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation preferred but not required
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Experience as an administrative assistant or similar, or a role in the insurance industry is beneficial
The estimated $55,000 - $70,000 per year salary for this position is based on location and industry standards.
