Position Summary: The Logistics Associate is responsible for order fulfillment, packing, and preparing shipments. This role includes shipping and receiving tasks, collaborating with parcel and LTL carriers, and reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor. Additionally, the position involves working closely with the RMA Department and Customer Support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage outbound freight routing to ensure timely delivery; assess carrier performance and costs to select the most efficient options.
  • Operate a forklift safely or learn to do so promptly.
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs, process claims for lost or damaged freight, and verify freight bills with the accounting department.
  • Prepare finished orders post-quality control inspection, ensuring proper wrapping and packing according to standards. Optimize bundling methods for cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of delivery trucks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and restricting access to loading areas.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage, notifying delivery personnel as necessary, and manage the routing of incoming packing lists.
  • Handle returned goods shipments, completing necessary return goods authorization paperwork and coordinating with Customer Service for repairs.
  • Perform additional shipping and receiving tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required. Strong math and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with others. Familiarity with shipping manifest applications is a plus.
  • Experience operating a forklift or certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including web-based business systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements: Effective communication with management and colleagues is crucial. Regular use of telecommunication devices and email is expected. The role may involve extended periods of sitting or standing, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. for moving boxes and goods.

Work Environment: The position is situated in a traditional warehouse setting, with exposure to common dust, dirt, and noise. Duties may include prolonged periods of sitting or standing and extensive computer work.
