Job Description:

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Mechanical Department Leader to lead our mechanical engineering team in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Mechanical Department Leader will be responsible for overseeing the department's daily operations, managing projects, and ensuring the team is meeting project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the mechanical engineering department, including staffing, training, and mentoring of staff.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the mechanical engineering team.
  • Develop and implement project plans and schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Review and approve project drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Work closely with clients, project managers, and other departments to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct quality control reviews and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors to ensure ongoing business opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design and project management.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of engineers.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software.
