Equipment Specialist

At Children's National, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Equipment Technician to join our team. As an Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of medical equipment in our patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Disinfect, process, store, and stock medical equipment and supplies in accordance with established infection control practices.
- Adjust and store equipment according to need, ensuring timely availability for patient care.
- Remove, disinfect, and replace soiled equipment and supplies to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain the stock, appearance, and cleanliness of all assigned equipment, adhering to manufacturer instructions and infection control procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of experience in a hospital setting, preferably with knowledge of infection control procedures, biomedical equipment, and medical applications or respiratory care background.
- Ability to organize, establish priorities, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Basic computer skills and ability to log in to a Windows-based PC.
- Physical ability to move, lift, and carry equipment and gas cylinders, with stamina to endure long periods of standing and walking.
- Anticipate and respond to customer needs, following up until needs are met.
- Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior, partnering with team members to achieve goals.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to change.
- Identify opportunities to improve clinical and administrative processes, making appropriate decisions using sound judgment.
