Teaching Specialist/Lecturer in Addictions Counseling

This is a continuous job posting for a Teaching Specialist/Lecturer in Addictions Counseling position at the University of Minnesota. The successful candidate will provide instruction for graduate-level courses in addictions counseling and integrated behavioral health. The position offers a flexible work arrangement and the opportunity to shape and be responsible for the student experience.
Responsibilities- Teach graduate-level courses in addictions counseling and integrated behavioral health.
- Work with the Director of Graduate Studies and other faculty to ensure successful integration of coursework and state licensing requirements.
- Utilize industry and content expertise to inform course content and keep current with research findings and workforce trends.
- Develop and implement curriculum using new technologies to enhance delivery and accessibility.
- Use pedagogical best practices for diverse working adult learners.
- Respond to course-related student inquiries within 48 hours.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Master's degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, mental health counseling, community counseling, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of clinical practice and/or agency management experience in co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Clinical or teaching experience in thematic areas such as co-occurring mental health and addictions care, assessment and treatment planning, and human development.
