Responsibilities:
  • Conduct high-level research into molecular mechanisms underpinning skin health, disease, and treatment outcomes, focusing on cellular and molecular biology and immunology techniques.
  • Implement molecular biology techniques to explore the genetic and epigenetic contribution involved in skin conditions, leveraging knowledge of immunology to understand inflammatory responses and healing processes.
  • Utilize and develop in vitro and in vivo models, including mouse models, to study the effects of novel dermatological treatments.
  • Employ a variety of molecular and cellular assays to assess treatment efficacy, mechanism of action, and safety profiles.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate molecular findings with clinical insights, aiming to translate research into tangible medical device solutions.
  • Stay in touch with the latest scientific advancements in molecular biology, immunology, and dermatology to inform experimental design and innovation.
  • Contribute to the drafting and submission of research manuscripts for publication in high-impact journals and prepare grant proposals to secure funding.
  • Engage in knowledge exchange within the lab and broader scientific community, presenting research outcomes at conferences and workshops.
Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field, with coursework or research experience in Immunology.
  • Demonstrable experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, CRISPR-Cas9, RNA sequencing).
  • Familiarity with immunological assays and concepts, particularly those relevant to dermatological research.
  • Proven track record of conducting animal studies, preferably with experience in mouse models, including handling, surgery, and post-operative care.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis software and bioinformatics tools relevant to molecular biology and immunology.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with laser-based devices or photochemical assays.
  • Background in dermatological research or a keen interest in dermatology and skin biology.
  • Evidence of successful publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities in a research environment.
