Job DescriptionThe X-Ray & Medical Technologist is a critical member of our diagnostic imaging team, responsible for capturing high-quality X-ray images and providing exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing X-ray procedures in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Capturing detailed and accurate documentation of patient encounters in our electronic medical record system.
- Collaborating with healthcare providers and radiologists to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Providing compassionate care to patients, including explaining procedures, positioning patients, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assisting with training and acclimation of new hire X-ray technologists and scribes.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Performing common X-ray studies, including chest, extremity, spinal, and abdominal X-rays, within established timeframes.
- Using internal X-ray and care coordination software to document and communicate X-ray studies performed.
- Facilitating diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists as needed.
- Assisting with medical procedures, including EKGs and procedure setups, within the scope of practice.
- Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians via phone under physician guidance.
- Assisting with CLIA waived tests and EKGs, providing a second set of hands for maintaining limb position for sling assistance.
- Keeping track of materials needed to copy images to a CD for patients and informing Medical Assistants or Site Managers prior to depletion of supplies.
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date QA log book, including pregnancy forms and daily check-off lists.
- Having knowledge of personnel to contact in case of equipment failure or software issues.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program.
- 4-6 months of experience as a X-ray Technologist.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Functional and practical knowledge of various computer systems.
- Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- The job may require lifting light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical or facility supplies).
- Heavy computer use required.
Pay Range:
$37.50-40.00/hr + $5,000 sign-on bonus
