Job Summary
UnityPoint Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing sterile diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures in our state-of-the-art suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with sterile procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring aseptic and sterile techniques are observed.
- Maintain intra-arterial access as prescribed by Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, and Cardiologists.
- Utilize proper positioning criteria and technical exposure factors to ensure high-quality images.
- Assist with all members of the healthcare team, handling various job tasks simultaneously and improving productivity by maintaining IR Suite ready status.
- Input procedural charges into the computer system and apply appropriate use of PPE.
- Utilize knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe and effective procedures on patients of all ages.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department meetings, promoting positive dialogue and understanding department performance trends.
- Take call as rotated/assigned and respond within 30 minutes.
Requirements
- Knowledge of procedure-specific equipment and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Interventional and Vascular Radiology.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Independent judgment and anticipation of physician needs.
- Ingenuity and initiative character on a daily basis.
- 1-2 years of Interventional Radiology training/experience.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiology or healthcare-related field (Preferred).
- Iowa State License – General Radiographer.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (VI) or (CV) or acquired within 2 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
