About the Role

At Heart Hospital of Austin, we are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a vital role in gathering diagnostic information through the use of radioactive materials and sophisticated radiation detecting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Nuclear Medicine exams in a timely manner, documenting required information and communicating with primary physicians and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate and assist patient care in collaboration with other technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient conditions to perform radiology exams effectively.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their cooperation.
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care and maintain a safe environment.
  • Consult with staff to meet patient needs and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Document required information and adhere to Point of Care quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree from an approved Joint Review Committee on Education Program in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
  • Certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
  • Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (CNMT) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (N).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
