Job Summary

This position is for Ruston and the surrounding 60-mile radius. We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to provide quality OT services for patients, caregivers, and facilities in accordance with the principles and practices of occupational therapy and with Lagniappe Rehabilitation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, develop initial and ongoing treatment plans, and discharge plans
  • Supervise assistants and aides and participate in case management
  • Represent Lagniappe Rehabilitation's commitment to quality and service in all interactions with facilities
  • Adhere to all state regulations regarding occupational therapy
Essential Functions
  • Optimize patient functionality and skills by providing, directing, and/or overseeing Lagniappe Rehabilitation therapy
  • Screen all residents, assess and treat patients who might benefit from therapy as referred by state-approved referral sources
  • Adhere to Minimum Data Set (MDS) procedures and effective care planning
  • Thoroughly document progress toward identified objectives and communicate patient status and needs to patients, families, and other involved professionals
Requirements
  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited school of Occupational Therapy
  • Valid National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification for Occupational Therapy
  • Valid state license (where appropriate)
  • Valid driver's license
Abilities
  • Travel between facilities during scheduled hours
  • Work varying hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Rehabilitation Director
