Service Unit Non RN Manager I

As a Service Unit Non RN Manager I at Kaiser Permanente, you will oversee the management of one or more units providing ambulatory services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that staff provides high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care to members across the continuum, while complying with local, state, and federal requirements. You will also develop and maintain budgets and on-going staff development.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Manage or assist in managing the operations of one or more units in an outpatient facility. Ensure that Assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.
2. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers in establishing, implementing, and maintaining patient care and quality service standards to meet members and internal clients' expectations.
3. Act as a patient advocate, resolving patient care issues.
4. Design and evaluate processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
5. Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations.
6. Monitor financial performance and identify and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
7. Determine the appropriate staff mix for the department and develop processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.
8. Provide ongoing staff development.
9. Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives and ensure they are met.
10. Collaborate with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief in developing the level of patient services and the day-to-day operations of the department.
11. Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
Basic Qualifications:
1. Experience: Minimum two (2) years of project management, program management, or supervisory experience OR one (1) year of project management, program management, or supervisory experience with a Master's degree.
2. Education: Bachelor's degree required.
3. License, Certification, Registration: N/A
Additional Requirements:
1. Knowledge of The Joint Commission and other local, state, and federal regulations.
2. Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills.
3. Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. BLS preferred.
2. Master's degree preferred.
