We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in the care and support of psychiatric patients in our inpatient unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being in a therapeutic environment.
- Assist professional staff in the evaluation and care of patients, including vital sign checks and documentation.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Apply physical restraints or assist with seclusion under the direct supervision of a physician or RN, as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Certificate Program in Certified Nursing Assistant or some college-level social science preferred.
- Less than 1 year of relevant experience required; Basic Life Support certification upon hire required.
- Certified Nurse Aide certification preferred.
This role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, as well as occasional lifting and pushing/pulling of 50 pounds. Occupational hazards and exposure to bloodborne pathogens are possible.
