The Refrigerant Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the production supervisor and team lead in fulfilling overall production needs for incoming and outgoing refrigerants. This position will primarily concentrate on the refrigerant reclamation program.

Prioritizing safety: A-Gas provides all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including an annual boot allowance, gloves, safety glasses, and company-issued uniforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the check-in and staging of cylinders, including data entry into a cylinder tracking system and tagging the in/out dates, accurately labeling cylinders, and preparing them for shipment to clients.
- Utilize overhead cranes to handle 30 and 50-pound cylinders.
- Employ laboratory equipment to analyze components for purity and correct mixtures.
- Load cylinders onto carts and operate the decant station to extract gas from the cylinders.
- Operate and maintain production facility equipment, including pumps, cylinders, hoses, hand tools, pressure gauges, scales, relief valves, cylinder valves, overhead hoists, and bulk tanks.
- Safely handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders while understanding the hazards associated with various gases, as well as the size and contents of cylinders by interpreting safety data sheets and cylinder labels.
- Inspect and assess cylinders for defects, dents, and cracks prior to filling. Prepare cylinders and ISO tanks for filling by attaching them to a manifold and evacuating to eliminate potential contaminants.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Previous experience in a process operations environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand tools.
- Ability to quickly learn technical chemical processes, gas terminology, cylinder types, and sizes in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
- EPA 608 certification is required and/or must be obtained within six months.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and clamps is required, or the ability to become certified within 60 days.
- Functional computer skills are necessary.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently pushes, pulls, moves, and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently.
- Regularly operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers.
- Engages in manipulative tasks (seizing, holding, grasping, or otherwise working with hands) for 50-75% of the day.
- Consistently works in environments with uncontrolled climate and some exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
