Job Overview

The Media Production Assistant Intern will assist studio show producers and directors with various tasks related to programming for SportsNet Pittsburgh. Responsibilities encompass a range of activities including video editing, content writing, research, and archiving of stories and video materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Editing digital video content (highlights, soundbites, packages) utilizing Adobe Premiere.
  • Writing and editing feature packages as instructed. Aid producers and Assistant Producers in gathering and organizing production resources for events and studio broadcasts, including distribution of rundowns.
  • Operating studio cameras and acting as a Stage Manager during studio productions.
  • Logging video segments and soundbites for production purposes.
  • Serving as a digital archivist for the tape library.
  • Completing additional broadcast-related tasks and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with various aspects of television production.
  • Strong knowledge of Pittsburgh sports, particularly baseball and hockey, along with familiarity with major local sports teams.
  • Excellent internet research capabilities.
  • Preferred experience in editing, specifically with non-linear editing systems.
  • Creativity, motivation, and the ability to contribute innovative ideas to the production process are essential.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving work environment; must be a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal oversight while also collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessary.
